KS4 is a very important time as students prepare for their GCSE examinations. JSTC wants to ensure that our students are in the best possible position when it comes to sitting their final GCSE exams at the end of Y11.
Students will sit internal/mock examinations that will be conducted as if it were a ‘real’ GCSE examination. It is important that students are ready for the whole exam experience, and if anything needs addressing then this can be done before the formal GCSEs take place. They will be conducted following the JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) rules and regulations.
Here you will find some important and useful information to guide students and parents/carers through what is expected and to help with preparation.
EXAM RESULTS DAY
THURSDAY 12TH AUGUST 2021 9am – 11am
Collection of your exam results this year will be in the canteen, you will enter the door opposite the Primary School. You will need to give your full name to the person behind the desk and sign to say you have received them. If you are unable to collect yourself then you will need to notify the Exams Officer prior to results day by emailing email@example.com.
You will need to say who will be collecting them and that you give your consent, they will be required to bring in photo ID. We cannot release your results to anyone without your consent to do so. Alternatively you can provide a stamped addressed envelope and these will be posted directly to you on results day. There will be staff available on the day if you require support. It is also important that we have your up-to-date address on file, if this has changed since you left please let us know, again by emailing using the address above.

Important information for Summer grades
Your summer examination grades will be awarded using a range of evidence. Please remember that we are now preparing a range of additional assessments to enable you to show how much you know and to assemble the evidence for the grade you will receive.
The graphic here shows clearly how your grade will be worked out, the evidence this will be based on and the appeals process.
Under normal circumstances the Awarding Bodies offer a Post Results Service, as with many things it is different this year. If you are unhappy with any of the Teacher Assessed Grades (TAGs) you have been awarded, then there is an appeals process - here you will find the details of this process (link above).
Senior staff members and the Exams Officer will be available on results day if you have any questions and will be happy to help you.
